Nancledra Children

Eco Warriors

Two Eco Warriors from each class have now been elected to represent their peers on the Nancledra Eco Council. Over the next two weeks, we’ll be consulting with all children to gather ideas about how the council can help improve our school environment and make a positive impact both locally and globally. If you have suggestions—big or small—please do pass them on!

The council has formed two focused working groups: the Outside & Recycling Group and the Energy & Resources Group.

The Outside & Recycling Group

Supported by Fi McLeod, this team will begin their work by restoring and cleaning our school pond, ready for the arrival of spring wildlife.

The Energy & Resources Group

This group will be supported by Chris Parker. Their first project is an important one: helping to fundraise so that we can twin our new school toilets with toilets in communities around the world that have limited access to clean water and safe sanitation. Through this work, the pupils will learn about global responsibility and how small actions in our school can make a meaningful difference to others.

More information about their fundraising plans will be shared soon!

Eco school focus

Let’s ‘twin’ our posh new toilets with somewhere overseas!

The Eco Group have come up with the idea of raising funds so that we can twin our posh new toilets with somewhere overseas to help people who are less fortunate and have poorer access to water, water treatment and general toilet facilities.

Our goal is to raise enough funds to twin two of our toilets, that would be a total of £120. To fund raise we were thinking of a sponsored session of squats (not in the toilet, PE Squats!) for both parents and children.
