RSE Parent consultation

RSE Consultation

As you may be aware, The Department for Education had announced changes to Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). These changes have now come into effect in all schools and we are therefore obliged to comply with the updated requirements. As a result, we have been in the process of reviewing our RSE curriculum, so we can be sure our provision meets the Government criteria and is appropriate for our children based on:

  • Age
  • Physical and emotional maturity
  • Religious and cultural backgrounds
  • Special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
  • What pupils need to know to be healthy and safe in school, in their personal relationships and in the wider world

At Nancledra, we value the education provided by the RSE and PSHE curriculum in preparing our children for the wider world, their place in it and to be respectful, tolerant and accepting of all.

The presentation below outlines the objectives for all RSE and PSHE units, with those in bold indicating RSE content. If you would like to view lesson plans or teaching resources in more detail, you are very welcome to contact the school.

We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to read the attached documentation and share any of your views via the parents response form below.

Many thanks for your support
