Mousehole Class is named after Mousehole, one of Cornwall’s most picturesque and historic fishing villages, known for its narrow streets, granite cottages and beautiful harbour.
Often described as one of Cornwall’s prettiest places, Mousehole is full of charm and coastal character, making it a fitting inspiration for the place where children begin their educational adventure.
Mousehole Class is where our youngest pupils begin their learning journey in a nurturing, joyful and carefully structured environment. As our Reception class, we provide a rich early years curriculum that balances high-quality teaching with purposeful play, exploration and discovery.
We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and inspired. Our learning environment is carefully designed to support children's development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping them to grow in confidence, independence and curiosity.

In a playful nod to the famous Cornish tale of The Mousehole Cat, our Reception children are known as the Mousehole Mice. This special class identity helps to foster a sense of belonging, community and fun while celebrating the rich storytelling heritage of Cornwall.
