Nancledra Children

Keeping your child safe online

At Nancledra School, we take online safety seriously. The internet is a fantastic resource for learning, creativity and communication, but it is important that children know how to use it safely, responsibly and respectfully.

We work closely with families to promote positive online habits and encourage open conversations about digital life. Through our computing curriculum and wider personal development programme, children learn how to stay safe online, protect their personal information, manage their digital footprint, think critically about online content and seek help when something does not feel right.

As part of our curriculum, we use resources from Common Sense Education to teach digital citizenship, online safety and digital wellbeing. This helps ensure our children are equipped to navigate an increasingly digital world safely and confidently.

This page provides guidance, tips and links to trusted sources that can help you support your child online. We particularly recommend Common Sense Media, which offers excellent age-based reviews of apps, games, websites, films and books, alongside practical advice for families. It is a valuable resource for helping parents make informed decisions about their child's digital life.

Ms Williams, our Computing Lead, is always happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your child's online life, both now and as they grow and begin exploring more digital spaces in the future.
