Forest School Curriculum

At Nancledra School, we believe that if we want children to care for our planet, they first need to know it, experience it, and love it. That’s why Forest School is an important part of our curriculum and a key element of our Wellbeing Wednesdays.

Our Forest School programme is based on the Wild Passport scheme, offering a structured progression of outdoor skills and experiences. Children move from using simple peelers to working with wood drills as part of our tool‑use curriculum, and from creating small natural shelters to building A‑frames and putting up tents in our den‑building programme.

Each session is thoughtfully resourced so that children can revisit previous learning, practise new skills, and explore creatively in a natural environment. Forest School also gives pupils the chance to face challenges beyond the classroom, helping them build resilience, confidence, and independence.

Most importantly, these shared outdoor experiences strengthen relationships, create lasting memories, and deepen children’s connection with the world around them.
